The founding member of BCE, Tom brings over 25 years experience to aid in the growth and quality of service the company currently maintains. Tom holds degrees in both Engineering and Business. Raised in Montana, Tom pursued his higher education at the University of Washington and at the University of Montana. After graduating college, Tom began work as an engineer in Missoula for Atwood, Hinzman. He later founded Beaudette Consulting Engineers in 1991. Since then, he has worked on a wide variety of projects throughout Montana and the US.


Mr. Newman has over 30 years experience. Part of his professional experience includes serving as a Design Engineer for the city of Missoula and managing multiple projects. Prior to working for the city, he spent several years working in the heat of Texas as a consulting engineer. He has served as a Structural Design Engineer at Beaudette Consulting Engineers, Inc. since 1992, and has worked with design of timberframe, log, masonry, steel, prestressed concrete, and reinforced concrete structures.


Matt came to BCE in 1999 to join this hard-working group of professionals. Matt has over 13 years experience in all facets of Structural Engineering. After graduating at the University of Colorado in 1993, Matt worked in Boulder, CO on residential, industrial, commercial, and educational projects. While at BCE, he has also moved into consulting on log, heavy timber, and medical facilities.

Janna has been with BCE full time since 1999. Prior to that, she worked as a student intern here for three summers while attending Montana State University. Janna has obtained experience in all facets of structural consulting while at BCE. Her primary field of expertise has been in the historic renovation area. She has worked on many well known structures regionally with gravity and seismic retrofit of timber, masonry and conventionally framed buildings.
