Tim Patterson

Tim began his bachelor’s degree studies at MSU in water resources, but it only took one structures class to make him realize that structural engineering is where his passion really lies. Being a carpenter during the summer breaks he got to see his engineering studies being applied in real life. He now enjoys designing the structures that he once built.

Tim graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Montana State in 2001. After 10 years working in the public sector and a couple other private firms, Tim found his home here at BCE in 2012. Tim has experience in commercial and educational structures but his real love is designing complex high-end homes. He enjoys the challenge of getting a new set of architectural drawings and figuring out how to make his clients dreams become reality. Tim is a licensed PE in Montana and three other states.

In his free time Tim loves spending time with his wife and two kids, exploring all that Bozeman and the Montana wilderness have to offer. Aside from structural, Tim’s other passion is running obscenely long distances in the mountains. He believes there’s nothing like a 4 or 5 hour trail run to clear the mind and keep the creativity flowing.
