Yellowstone Hall – Montana State University

Design Team: SMA Architects
Owner: Montana State University
Completion Date: 2016

Yellowstone Hall was the largest ongoing building project in the state of Montana in 2015.  At 400 beds, 120,000 sq. ft. and a $35 million construction budget, this innovative project incorporated the latest in “green” design, earning it LEED Gold status, a hybrid structural system, and innovative architecture to create a building custom fit to the site and MSU’s growing student housing needs. Collaborating tirelessly with the entire design team and GC/CM Langlas and Associates, our engineers were tasked with balancing budget with stability, supporting unique splaying corridors and challenging building angles, and an aggressive fast-tracked schedule to help bring the architect’s vision to life under a very short timeline.
