This new fixture in downtown Missoula is a 5 level cast-in-place, post-tensioned concrete frame and integral 6 inch slab structure. The foundation is a mat foundation up to 48” thick due to varying soil conditions and zero lot line requirements for portions of the floor plan. There are retaining structures on three sides, as there is lower level (basement) parking within the facility. In addition, there is an integrated 5,000 sq. ft. retail space that required structural design for the architectural elements.
BCE was responsible for the design of the foundations and progressive exterior structure, as well as the majority of construction administration services. Carl Walker, Inc. was the parking consultant as well as the engineer on the post-tensioned frame.
