Structural Analysis & Design

Maintaining the latest technology in structural analysis software allows BCE's engineers to provide accurate and efficient designs. BCE's engineers are some of the most technically proficient in the region with a diverse range of experience in structural consulting.

Structural Investigations

BCE provides investigations of existing structures for all structural integrity issues. Fire damage, fatigue, natural damage, seismic retrofit, human damage, facility upgrade and historic renovation are some of the areas we have experience in investigation. BCE has performed brick testing on over 30 historic buildings to evaluate the existing brick for current seismic and wind load requirements. When brick shear values are determined to be high enough to resist these loads, we can save the project significant costs in new steel braced or moment frames when evaluating seismic upgrade requirements.

Our library and computer resources give us the ability to provide cost estimating for structural components of any project.

Structural Specification

We use Masterspec™ as our template for specifications. BCE also has a library of custom specification for areas not specifically covered in Masterspec™.

Historic Rehabilitation & Renovation

Over the years, we have consulted on the integrity and retrofit of multiple historic structures. From municipal facilities to schools, hotels and park service buildings, BCE is on the leading edge in the region for historic preservation experience.

Seismic Retrofitting

Our talented staff has the vision and knowledge to perform seismic upgrade to existing facilities. This area of structural consulting is often the most challenging to perform, but BCE has accomplished the preservation of some of the area's most treasured structures.
